Windows Style Builder 1.5

Windows Style Builder is a specialized theming tool for creating and editing Windows visual styles (.msstyles). It gives designers, themers, and power users fine-grained control over how Windows UI elements look, enabling deep customization of buttons, menus, progress bars, caption buttons, and other interface components.

Key capabilities:

• Inspect the class/part/state hierarchy of a visual style to find exactly where each UI element is defined.
• Edit images and properties used by the theme, including colors, fonts, margins, padding, sizing, and layout metrics.
• Import and export graphical assets (such as PNGs with transparency) for precise visual tweaks.
• Preview changes and navigate quickly with search to streamline iteration.

Notes:

• Windows Style Builder edits .msstyles files; it does not by itself apply or “unlock” third-party themes. Applying custom themes may require additional tools and careful version compatibility with your Windows build.
• Because system visuals are involved, back up your files and test changes (ideally in a virtual machine) before deploying them on a primary system.

Windows Style Builder is developed by AveApps and is used by 15 users of Software Informer. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 1.5 beta and 1.5.
